1989 Ford Crown Victoria “Vic”
About the 1983–1991 Ford Crown Victoria
The Ford LTD Crown Victoria (1983-1991) is the box-body Panther-platform full-size Ford, sold as one continuous generation from the 1983 model split until the aero 1992 Crown Victoria replaced it. Every one is body-on-frame, rear-wheel drive, with a 5.0L (302) V8 and the AOD four-speed automatic as the standard powertrain. The 302 ran central fuel injection through 1985 and switched to sequential EFI for 1986, while a carbureted 5.8L (351W) V8 served police and fleet duty. A 1988 freshening revised the front and rear styling; otherwise the body changed very little across nine model years.
The story
bought the car from my friends neighbor in November for 400 bucks... since then i've replaced the turn signal switch, tie rods, radiator, water pump, exhaust, tires, driveshaft & u-joints, and cross brace... but it drives pretty good...
i'm planning on buying newer crown victoria rims from a 1995 or something, paint it white (the color it already is) or black possibly, get a new sound system for it, and more importantly-- get a tuneup-- hasnt had one since i bought it... — Patrick21387
