The 1996 Chevrolet Corsica was the final model year of the GM L-body compact, sold only as a four-door sedan alongside the two-door Beretta. It offered a 2.2 L OHV four-cylinder and an optional 3.1 L V6 (L82 3100 SFI) rated at 155 net horsepower, paired with automatic transmissions by this point in the run. Chevrolet ended both the Corsica and Beretta after 1996, replacing the sedan with the new front-wheel-drive Malibu for 1997.
