The 1996 Ford E-350 Econoline was the last one-ton van sold with Ford's long-running pushrod gasoline engines, including the 4.9 liter inline six; overhead-cam Triton power replaced them for 1997. The 7.3 liter Power Stroke turbodiesel, added for 1995, continued as the heavy-hauling option.
