The 2001 Ford Excursion continued on the Super Duty chassis with the 5.4L Triton V8 (255 hp) standard and the 6.8L Triton V10 (310 hp) and 7.3L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 (250 hp) optional. For 2001 the Ford Excursion added standard fog lights on the Limited trim and made the reverse sensing system standard on Limited. A monochrome appearance package arrived during the model year. The 2001 Excursion seated up to nine passengers and used the 4R100 four-speed automatic with these engines.
