The 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty put the one-ton on an all-new heavy-duty platform, split from the F-150 for the first time. Launched in early 1998, the Super Duty skipped the 1998 model year entirely, which is why no 1998 F-350 exists. The 7.3L Power Stroke gained an intercooler, and gas buyers chose between the 5.4L Triton V8 and the 6.8L Triton V10. Regular cab, SuperCab, and crew cab bodies ran from single-rear-wheel to dually.
