The 1974 Ford Ranchero brought the 460 big-block V8 into the public lineup, taking the place of the 429 as the top engine. The base engine remained the 250 inline-six, with the 302, 351, and 400 V8s also offered, all rated SAE net. The Gran Torino Ranchero continued on its 118-inch wheelbase with the 500, Squire, and GT trims.
