The 1993 Ford Taurus added a 3.2 Yamaha V6 to the SHO for cars equipped with the AX4S automatic, while the 3.0 V6 continued with the five-speed manual. The 3.2 kept the 220-horsepower rating but at 6000 rpm with a milder camshaft and raised torque to about 215 lb-ft. The standard Taurus used the Vulcan 3.0 V6 and the Essex 3.8 V6, and the Taurus remained the best-selling car in the United States.
