The 1970 Ford Thunderbird was a fifth-generation carryover heavily restyled with a prominent pointed beak front end developed under Ford's Semon Bunkie Knudsen. Body styles included the two-door hardtop, two-door Landau, and four-door Landau on the body-on-frame chassis. The 429 cubic inch 385-series V8, rated at 360 gross horsepower, was standard.
