1981 Ford Thunderbird Specs & Photos
The 1981 Ford Thunderbird was the second year of the downsized eighth generation, built on Ford's Fox platform as a boxy notchback coupe. The standard engine was a 200 cubic inch (3.3L) inline-six rated at 88 SAE net horsepower, with optional 255 cubic inch (4.2L, 115 hp) and 302 cubic inch (5.0L, 130 hp) Windsor V8s. This generation sold poorly, and 1981 was the last year the 302 V8 was offered in it.
The 1981 Ford Thunderbird is part of the Eighth-Gen Thunderbird generation (1980–1982). See the full Ford Thunderbird 1980–1982 registry →
