The 1987 Honda CRX was the final model year of the first-generation CRX (AF/AS chassis), a two-seat hatchback built on the third-generation Civic platform. US trims ran from the economy-focused HF through the DX to the fuel-injected Si, whose 1.5L SOHC PGM-FI four produced 91 hp (SAE net). Power reached the front wheels through a transverse four-cylinder and a standard 5-speed manual. For 1988 the CRX was fully redesigned onto the fourth-generation Civic underpinnings, making 1987 the last of the original body.
