I chose to disturb as LITTLE of the plastic as possible on this old truck, so I installed these bushings one at a time, from each side. The right (shifter) side has one 17mm nut; the left has a 14mm nut for the shift lever, and then a 17mm nut for the floor bracket.

Since I'm also replacing the grommets below the floor in the shift rod, it made sense to drop the shift lever off & do some of that work on the bench.
