The 4-bolt steering gear I got from the Junk Yard had O-ring type fittings on both the pressure line and the return line. I modified my return line to use the O-ring type fitting. After everything was already assembled in the truck, I found this little gem. What I'm holding in my hand is an insert that "apparently" adapts the steering gear to accept a flare-type fitting. This adapter is installed in the hole where the flare fitting would normally screw into, and can be a PITA to remove, but I'd be willing to bet that these could be used in the 4-bolt steering gear so that one could use all the stock power steering hoses.
