In the beginning there was a void. This is the stock XL configuration with rubber mat as opposed to carpeting. The problem is is that there is no good place to put a cup holder in the truck, and no center console for storage. So if you have a coke while driving, you risk spilling it all over you AND the inside of the truck.

Notice that there are no pre-drilled holes to mount the stock center console.

One could drill holes and mount a console, but Ford has done that job for us already. We just need to reveal them through the mat.

This might be a good time to scrub the mat.
