dscf2148--winch-plate-tow-hooks-added.jpg Expedition tow hooks installed. I couldn't use the top nut bracket because it would have to pass through the bumper mount tab, and I couldn't install the hooks upside down (bolts on top, bracket on the bottom) because of their shape on the other side and where that would require them to be positioned, but I had some wide flange nuts of the same thread pitch that solved that problem.

I also cleaned up and re-welded the tiny and totally insufficient stock spot welds on the bumper and sway bar mounting bracket thingies. The sway bar ones aren't bad, because you can get a wrench on the top when (not if) the spot welds fail. The stock bumper setup sucks in that case, because getting a wrench on the inside of the support plate is a real challenge, so you don't want those failing and spinning free.
