The overhead console, speedometer, and a few other things became intermittent, and the fault was eventually traced to the engine bay wiring harness being loose over the LHF wheelwell, which was wearing through the wires (the PLASTIC wheelwell had rubbed through the convolute tube, the insulation, and the Copper strands).
