Buck Eating Apples in Front Yard

Shot a buck today, right in the front yard. Check out the action:

I was tinkering in the garage and when I stepped out front there was this buck eating from the rose bush next to the house (right under my bedroom window). I think he surprised me more than I did him. He moved across the road to the apple tree and I went to get the camera. He hung out there eating apples for about 10 minutes while I shot video from several angles, including directly up wind of him.

He has a bummed up right hind leg and you can see a big ol’ knot on his ‘knee’. I think someone may have shot him. This is the same buck we saw in the back yard one night last December. I didn’t think he was going to make it through the winter.
