This document details the removal process for the radius arm on Ford Bronco and F-150 4x4 vehicles.
(5'21'72iei'tsy' Front Coil Spring Radius Arm, Bronco and F-150 4x4 Removal Refer to illustrations under Front Spring, Bronco, F-150 4x4, Removal and Installation. 1. Raise the vehicle and position safety stands under the frame side rails and a jack such as Rotunda Hydraulic Floor Jack 077-00002 or equivalent under the axle. 2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Section 04-04. FZBSB-N 3. Disconnect the front stabilizer bar (5482) at the stabilizer link, if equipped. 4. Remove the shock absorber-to-lower bracket Description attaching bolt and nut and pull the front shock Nut and Washer 34_47 N-m absorber free of the radius arm. (25-35 Ft-Lb) 5. On vehicles equrpped with quad front shock Washer absorbers, remove the attaching nut and forward Insulator shock lower mount from the stud on the bracket. Front Spring Upper Mounting 6. Remove spring lower retainer attaching bolt from Retainer inside of the spring coil. 3" '824 N'" (13' 8 Ft'lb) 7. Loosen the axle pivot bolt. Front Shock Absorber R _ Nut 37-50 N-m (27_37 Ft-Lb) 8. emove radius arm-to-frame bracket nut. vut 71.100 N-m 9. Remove the radius arm rear plastic spacer and :52-74 Ft-Lb) insulator. Shock Bracket min; A... 1m.
