A document details the history of a rare Shelby Cobra 427, including its racing achievements and chassis number.
YES, ITS REAL! This is a real, original Shelby Cobra 427; in fact, it is one of the rarest of the 427 Cobras (Chassis # CSX-3016). It is one of only 21 full competition Cobras. It was built in 1965 and sold to a professional racing team. It has a racing history. In 1966, at the 12 hours of Sebring, this car finished first in its class of production sports cars over five liters. In Aug. of 1966, it set a lap record for production cars at Watkins Glen, New York. During the remainder of 1966, this car was raced throughout the Northeast at tracks such as: Cumberland, Maryland; Bridgehampton, New York; Danville, Virginia; and Limerock, Connecticut.
