The good ol' 4.6L V8! The 2000 model years were the last to have the Non-Performance Improved (NPI) Heads. They had a horsepower rating of 228hp (SAE Gross) and 304 lbs/ft of torque (SAE Gross). The 2001+ models had the Performance Improved (PI) heads, which boosted the horsepower rating to 265hp (SAE Gross) and torque to 305 lbs/ft (SAE Gross).
