A heavy-duty I-beam front steer axle lies along the plastic-lined bed of a black pickup, its machined spring pads and mounting holes facing up and the tie rod running beside it. At the near end the steering knuckle, drag link arm and dust-capped hub are still assembled, propped on scrap wood beside a white tarp.
