The 1992 Toyota Hilux continued the fifth-generation design, badged Toyota Pickup in the United States while the Hilux name carried on everywhere else. American trucks offered the 116 horsepower 22R-E 2.4-liter four or the 150 horsepower 3VZ-E 3.0-liter V6 in regular cab and Xtracab bodies with 2WD or 4WD. Overseas Hilux buyers could also order diesels, including the 2.8-liter 3L four that never reached US showrooms.
