The 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser introduced the FJ62 to the United States as a substantial revision of the 60-series wagon. The carbureted 4.2-liter 2F gave way to the 3F-E, a fuel-injected 4.0-liter inline-six rated at 155 horsepower, and US models paired it exclusively with a four-speed automatic. Quad rectangular headlights replaced the FJ60's round lamps, and equipment such as power windows and locks moved the wagon upmarket.
