Bronco Sliders 006s.JPG 1456 hits | 38.81 KB | Posted: 2007-11-27 I lubed the rubber seal with a rubber lube (Ruglyde) but dishsoap works as well. Then install (stuff) the cord into the inboard track of the weatherstrip.
Start at the bottom, in the center and go all around the perimeter, overlapping at the bottom.
After the cord is on, center the window with the weatherstrip in the opening. Shove the cord (at the bottom) through the opening first. Starting with the bottom, fit the flange on the top into the bottom track of the weatherstrip. You might need to peel the rubber from the inside by hand to get it started. Once the rubber starts to overlap the flange, from the inside of the truck, pull the cord. It will pull the rubber through the opening. It may only pull 1/2 of the rubber "lip" on top of the flange......that's OK. Pull the rope all the way around the perimeter. The sharp corners will require a little extra coaxing. Use your fingers to help pull the rubber in. Once you go a;ll the way around...it "sucks" the window into the opening. Then you can finish seating the seal. by pushing the window from the outside. ... (Posted in: Side sliding window install)
Bronco Sliders 005s.JPG 2229 hits | 29.28 KB | Posted: 2007-11-27 Take the old Ford window rubber off the old window and re-install onto the slider. I think it's easiest to start by installing the rubber on the pointed corners first. Top left and lower right in the pic. End with the rounded corners. Try not to dislodge the little corner pieces of chrome. They are fairly easy to put back, just adds extra work. ... (Posted in: Side sliding window install)
Bronco Sliders 004s.JPG 1397 hits | 30.88 KB | Posted: 2007-11-27 Once it is all around the window, shove out at the top. It takes a fair amount of force to get the window dislodged...at first. I started in the rear upper corner. Once you traverse the top....the window will almost fall out. If you run into subborn sections, simply peel the rubber back and push on the window. It helps to have someone on the outside to catch....just in case. I have done this before so I knew what to expect. ... (Posted in: Side sliding window install)
Bronco Sliders 003s.JPG 1621 hits | 35.11 KB | Posted: 2007-11-27 Get yourself some clothesline rope. A package of 100' was $1 at the local dollar store.....go figure.
I peeled back the rubber a little and stuffed in the line between the rubber and the topper. Not hard, just dirty. ... (Posted in: Side sliding window install)
