[b]OWNER BACKGROUND[/b]
It's a Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible. I bought it in August of 2001 when I lived in Minnesota. Since I've owned it, the car has been garage-kept and driven during summers only. As far as I can tell, the vehicle had been in Minnesota all of its life and is in great condition. It now resides in the Greensboro/High Point area in North Carolina. The original owner's manual has the first buyer's name printed in it. I also have the receipts from the last two owners. Previous owner said the car was restored in 1984 although I do not have receipts from the restoration.

[b]COSMETIC ISSUES:[/b]
- Needs a new convertible top (there is a 2-foot tear in the top). Current top is white with glass window.
- 4 snaps are broken on the red convertible top boot
- See pictures of rear frame rail -- large tear in the frame rail (looks like someone tried pull it out when it was stuck years ago?)
- Scuff in front bumper on passenger side
- Missing the "D" in FORD on the rear trunk lid
- Dent in driver's side door under handle
- needs windshield-mounted rearview mirror
- 1 broken piece in front grill (replacement grill included)

[b]ELECTRICAL ISSUES:[/b]
- Heater only works while driving
- Clock doesn't work
- AM Radio works, but tuner knob doesn't tune stations anymore
- in-dash speaker doesn't work, previous owner hooked up external speaker which sits under the dash

[b]MECHANICAL ISSUES:[/b]
- Small engine oil leak (appears to be oil pan gasket)

[b]REASON FOR SELLING:[/b]
Not much left to do to it -- losing interest. Time for a new toy!

Grill has a small break in it on the bottom right-hand side. A replacement grill is included in the sale of the vehicle.

I wish I knew the story behind this. This is the rear passenger-side framerail. What looks like happened is a hook was used to hook into the opening in the frame rail to pull the Galaxie out when it was stuck. The hook must have torn the framerail like this. I purchased the vehicle with this like this, so my guess is this is from many years ago.

Rear driver's side framerail. In the foreground is the pan of the trunk which has surface rust. Just past the pan of the trunk is the gasoline tank. The tank is a replacement and is wet in this picture. The wetness is gas from a brittle gas line that I replaced just after taking this photo.

Trunk lid rubs slightly here. Some of the paint has rubbed off over time from opening and closing the trunk.

Rear wheel well trim could use replacing.

Previous owner's wife backed into the Galaxie with their other car making this dent in the driver's side door.

Video of the Galaxie idling. The Flowmaster 40 series mufflers give it a noticable rumble. It turns heads driving down the road for its looks and its sound. Running a little rich in this video (just started it up after sitting for a week).
