1992 Ford Bronco - some supplies to start with.....youll need much more brake cleaner and ATF mercon fluid 1992 Ford Bronco - 2 E4ODs, one torn down, other ready to tear down for parts........the one torn down will be the one i rebuild since it only has burnt clutc… 1992 Ford Bronco - this will be my parts trans 1992 Ford Bronco - front pump minus the input shaft 1992 Ford Bronco - start by removing the 20 10mm bolts, then remove the pan 1992 Ford Bronco - i had LOTS of metal in the pan from a reverse plantary that exploded 1992 Ford Bronco - Transmission pan and filter removed for service, revealing internal parts and a red rag inside the pan. 1992 Ford Bronco - ok so first we remove the soleniod pack(blue thingy) this will require a tamper proof torx driver or bit 1992 Ford Bronco - see, next will be the accumulator body, youll need a 10mm & 8mm socket 1992 Ford Bronco - next is the main valve body, followed by the 3 bolts retaining the seperator plate 1992 Ford Bronco - now the seperator plate and 2 gaskets can be removed 1992 Ford Bronco - when the seperator plate is off you will see 8-10 balls, 1 steel ball w/ spring, a couple of filters, the OD servo cover, and 3 bolts holdi… 1992 Ford Bronco - typical worn tracks diagram 1992 Ford Bronco - all check balls marked 1992 Ford Bronco - now stand the trans up 1992 Ford Bronco - next remove the nine 10mm bolts holding the pump in.....you may have to shake the front pump to get it out....be carefull not to lose the t… 1992 Ford Bronco - pump, thrust washer, bearing 1992 Ford Bronco - now the next couple parts will just lift out 1992 Ford Bronco - coast clutch drum 1992 Ford Bronco - sun gear 1992 Ford Bronco - overdrive ring gear and center shaft 1992 Ford Bronco - remove the snap ring from the case and remove the overdrive pressure plate and clutches 1992 Ford Bronco - here i used a bottle jack, pry bar, vice grips, and 1X1 peice of wood just large enough to fit on the metal inside............next put some… 1992 Ford Bronco - DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT remove the inner snap ring only the outer snap ring in the case should be removed......if you remove the inner snap… 1992 Ford Bronco - remove your jack and remove your center support i made the mistake of removing the inner ring and this is what happens, the intermediate cy… 1992 Ford Bronco - this is the center support, it will just lift out after the outer ring has been removed 1992 Ford Bronco - next is the intermediate clutch pack, just lifts right out 1992 Ford Bronco - then you can remove the OD servo, snap ring, and cover BE CAREFULL! it will fly out of there if you are not holding pressure on it 1992 Ford Bronco - see just comes right out after the snap ring is removed 1992 Ford Bronco - now the OD band can come out 1992 Ford Bronco - followed by the forward and direct clutch drums 1992 Ford Bronco - after this step you will remove the sun shell, then reverse clutchs and reverse planetary........this parts trans was being harvested for t… 1992 Ford Bronco - these are the S-packs(soleniod packs) the blue is the newer 94+ upgraded pack the other is the old style pack 1992 Ford Bronco - break down of the E4OD
