Engine: Stock 5.4L 2-valve
Drivetrain: Stock 4x4
Notes: Bought from parents when they bought a 2015 Expedition. Despite the truck being an mostly excellent condition, the trade-in valve was soo low that i decided to buy it and use as my daily driver. I always considered this truck as a lemon because of certain past issues, but it has grown on me.

My very crude diagram how to wire the diode for the high beam shutter and high beam bulb to work

The diode prevents the low beam from backfeeding and activating the shutter and high bulb. But the High Beam switch will activate the projector, shutter...

Once you are fully sure the projectors beam angles are 100 percent where you want them to be, you can do a final install.

THe projectors use a threaded shank to mount to the housing. But to prevent it from moving or rotatring, i used a good bead of...

The headlights in my Expedition were looking very old and i always wanted to do some retrofit LED headlights instead of the oldschool HID projectors

The LED projectors are from DDM Tuning 3" Bi-LED projectors. They have a threaded shank for easy ins...

I tried to put the headlight in an oven but the oven was really too small. I tried a few different temps and nothing got the glue to release. Probably took me 5-6 times per headlight of reheating till i got it fully separated. It did melt the housin...

It took a serious fight and several reheating sessions to get these lenses off. It heat warped the housing and the force damaged the edge pretty bad.

In the future i will probably try and cut the back of the housing out and glue it back in.

Gettin...

I used a dremel to open the original hole of the headlight bulb large enough so i can fit the projector inside. drilled a small for for the shutter solenoid wire. was very easy to make the headlight fit inside

This is it mocked up from side

Because the Expedition has a separate highbeam and lowbeam bulb but the projector uses one bulb for both with a shutter for highbeam. This makes an issue that lowbeam would work fine but highbeam would not.

You would either have an issue that highb...

This was testing the function of the diode and hightbeam to make sure it operated properly. I had already removed the driver side headlight but finished the passanger side first which is why it is upside down.

This is the low beam. The shutter is cl...

This is testing the high beam operation. Both the projector, shutter, and high beam bulb are on and working properly.

I am using a LED highbeam bulb so the color will match the projector.

With both the projector and the high beam bulb, they are BRI...
