The 2008 Chevrolet Colorado was a mid-cycle year of the first-generation Colorado (GMT355 platform), by then powered by the updated 2.9L inline-four (LLV) rated at 185 hp and the 3.7L inline-five (LLR) rated at 242 hp that had replaced the original 2.8L and 3.5L engines for 2007. Transmission choices were a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab bodies were offered in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive; the optional 5.3L V8 did not arrive until 2009.
