The 1973 Dodge Dart renamed the Demon fastback to Dart Sport after complaints about the devil-themed name and badging. The full line took a new front end with a 5-mph impact bumper to meet federal standards, and Chrysler's breakerless electronic ignition became standard equipment. The Dart Sport 340 remained the performance model with a 240 horsepower net 340 V8, above the 95 horsepower 198 six, the 105 horsepower 225, and the 150 horsepower 318 two-barrel.
