The 1993 Ford Crown Victoria continued the aero body and the 4.6L SOHC modular V8, rated about 190 horsepower with single exhaust and about 210 horsepower with the dual-exhaust high-output tune. Ford moved to the electronically controlled AODE four-speed automatic during this period. The car remained a four-door sedan on the rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame Panther platform with recirculating-ball steering.
