The 1977 Ford E-350 Econoline was the one-ton member of the third-generation van line that introduced the E-350 name for 1975. That redesign brought full body-on-frame construction and moved the engine forward under a protruding hood, and it offered the E-350 as a cargo van, passenger wagon, and cutaway chassis. Every 1977 E-350 ran on gasoline; the first diesel option arrived in 1983.
