The 2002 Ford Escort sedan was the last, with the final car leaving the assembly line in June 2002 after two years of fleet-only sales. The ZX2 coupe, by then marketed without the Escort name, remained available to retail buyers with its 130 hp (net) 2.0L Zetec. The sedan retained the 110 hp (net) SPI four to the end.
