Ford Galaxie

1970 Ford Galaxie Specs & Photos

The 1970 Ford Galaxie 500 was a full-size model on the body Ford introduced for 1969, making 1970 a carryover year with a revised grille and trim, slotted below the LTD and above the base Custom and Custom 500. Body styles for the Galaxie 500 included a four-door sedan, a four-door Town Victoria hardtop, a formal-roof two-door hardtop, and a two-door SportsRoof fastback. Engine choices across the 1970 full-size line ran from the 240 cu in inline-six through 302, 351, and 390 cu in V8s, topped by the new 429 cu in V8 (up to 360 gross hp) that replaced the earlier 428. A three-speed manual was standard on the lower engines, with the Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic optional.
