The 1977 Ford Mustang was the fourth year of the subcompact Mustang II generation, offered as a notchback coupe and three-door hatchback with the 2.3L four, 2.8L V6, or 302 V8. New for 1977 was an optional removable-panel T-top roof for the hatchback, and the Cobra II appearance package continued. The King Cobra did not arrive until 1978, leaving the Cobra II as the top appearance package for 1977.
