The 1965 Ford Thunderbird carried the fourth-generation body with the 390 cubic inch FE V8 rated at 300 gross horsepower. Standard front disc brakes were added for 1965, and the car gained sequential rear turn signals that flashed the segmented taillights in sequence. Body styles included the hardtop coupe, Landau, and convertible, with a Special Landau limited edition offered in blue with a parchment vinyl roof.
