The 2000 Isuzu Rodeo was in the third year of its second generation, introduced for 1998 with a stiffer frame and a 205 horsepower 3.2-liter dual-overhead-cam version of the 6VD1 V6. A 130 horsepower 2.2-liter DOHC four served as the base engine on two-wheel-drive S models, and the V6 offered a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic with shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. Trims ran S, LS, and LSE, and assembly continued in Lafayette, Indiana.
