The 2003 Jeep Liberty continued the off-road-styled Renegade, a trim with its own front and rear fascias and an available roof-mounted light bar that had joined Sport and Limited partway through 2002. Powertrains carried over: the 2.4-liter PowerTech four rated 150 horsepower with a five-speed manual, or the 3.7-liter V6 rated 210 horsepower, which allowed up to 5,000 pounds of towing when properly equipped.
