Skid plate is designed to bolt into the existing sway bar brackets. There is a 45* lip in the front that tucks behind the front bumper. It extends to the rear and upto the front crossmember. The cutout is where it wraps around the steering gear box but does not interfer with the movement of the pitman arm. End goal is that snow and mud does not push up into the serpentine belt. The last winter I had the bronco ob the road I had the belt slip 4-5 times and caused me to lose lights. Not cool when its dark, 4-5" of fresh snow on the road, and its blowing n snowing more.
