i went with a Melling 10833 oil pump. it is thier race version of high volume oil pump. which supports the shaft better, comes with a very nice hardened pump shaft, adjsutable bypass pressure pug as well as a high pressure bypass spring. very nice unit. i installed the higher pressure spring hoping it might help protect the bearings better.

i also picked up a new pan which i know fits the Melling high volume pump. unforuntatly it did not fit this pump. so with alot of hammering of the pan and grinding the pump, i managed to make it fit. i used something to mark inside the pan to know where the pump was fitting the most at.
