By far the toughest item, a) squeezing the MIG nozzle into that space, and b) filling all the sheet metal fractures without burning up the remaining material. I got as much welded in there as I could, connecting up the various seam lines to hopefully reinforce them all.
Judging from the extent of damage on both sides, that's a more significant flex point than the infamous upper b-pillar / drip rail location that started this whole project.
