The next crew actually connected all the cable sections to their system, and checked the signal strength outside my house. The last time they told me I put in the wrong cable, they said it was because it wouldn't carry the signal well enough over that distance, and that P3-875-JCASS was necessary. This meter indicates I have at least 4x the necessary signal strength; about 3x better than most houses near the pavement.

But I'm still at least 1 more visit away from service, and that's going to be about 2 weeks.

After 4 years of fighting with them, we now have cable, which is much better TV & internet than the dishes we had been stuck using. And we got phone through it, too, though we don't use that.
