The PIU has a short plastic filler bolted at the front, and then flexible rubber fillers held in by double-sided foam tape. Fortunately, after cleaning all that out, I found the factory just puts some filler in the luggage rack holes, so they were easy to clean out & chase the threads before installing the JY rack.
