Alot of folks now a days like to use the CF bulbs in their celing fans. The bulbs may look a little strange if you use the sprial type like this but there are also standard looking CF bulbs now available. *important* Don't use compact fluorescents on dimmers!!! some celing fans have options to dim the lights!
