A steel engine oil pan removed and turned upside down on a concrete garage floor, its interior coated in dark oil varnish and sludge with the internal baffle and drain-plug boss visible. The bolt-flange sealing surface has been scraped clean of gasket material; a blue shop rag and a tire sit alongside.
