- I believe unrestricted ORV (off-road vehicles, 4 wheelers and ATVs) use plus unrestricted camping is ruining the Talkeetna Mountains behind Sutton. The ruts up by Eska Falls were 3 feet deep on May 20, 2006. Trails were wet, yet over a dozen 4 wheelers passed us. There are suitable places for ATVs to be. 0 That there no hiking only trails. That the impact of ATV use is greatly expanding. - I feel only a few user groups can use trails in the Sutton area. Once ATVs are misused on a trail, it's impassable to all other uses. ATVs need to be restricted to certain areas and areas created for non-motorized use. And these rules need to be ENFORCEDI 0 Being destroyed by hard usage through jeeps and 4 wheelers not being conscious of the delicacy of the terrain. o Trails being torn up. The land in some areas is fragile and should not be allowed to be torn up. We need to save some of the beauty for our children. 0 Don't want the trails tore up. 0 I am concerned about the extreme damage being done to the alpine environment by 4wheelers. Trails are getting deeper and wider and more trails are being created each year in environmentally sensitive areas. a Critical habitat area, spring time trails should be closed. - Sustainability of trails. Area is big enough for multiple uses, if the trails are designated or managed appropriately. Currently some trails are not sustainable or have way too much motorized trafc for what the land can support. 0 Area currently has many trails open for motorized use, reducing trails open for motorized (most popular/used access methods) use concentrate use on remaining trails, concentrating normal wear and tear into actual damage. - Unrestricted trail use has caused considerable damage to terrain and made trails impassable for hikers and other non-motorized users. a The scarring of the land due to RVs has led to amazing erosion and loss of many plants and places to put your feet. The spring waters have created fast moving streams on the raw earth. Plus the noise of the RVs and the often expressed attitude that the drivers can do whatever they want is appalling. - Out of control. 0 Resolving any conict without limit to access for any user group.
