It took some tweaking to get them to sit flat without pinching the tubes, but they're clear of the sliding carriage, and they hold the tubes securely so they curl just like the electronic band at the back.

The only problem is that, as they UNcurl (as the carriage moves to the far LEFT), they tap against the plastic ribs of the case above them. At first, I thought it sounded like one of the gears was slipping, but it prints perfectly. I might apply some flock tape later.
