Here's the back side of the magnet. It looks a little funky in the picture, but there is nothing wrong with it. The magnet itself is encased in epoxy to keep the gear oil off of it. As a result of that the magnet is not serviceable and if damaged must be replaced. The most common damage to this magnet is having the wires ripped out of it, so when installing this locker it is of the highest importance to have a good plan for protecting the wires. I had mine secured to the rear axle brake line and secured every four inches with tie wraps. May seem like overkill, but they never got torn out either.
