How did I get the Y-pipe to bolt up ? It was @ 1 1/8" too narrow…

How did I get the Y-pipe to bolt up ? It was @ 1 1/8" too narrow, meaning I had to widen the headpipes away from each other. I just jammed an old shovel handle down one and bent it gently 3 times until it BOLTED RIGHT UP to the supposedly Mustang only headers
