The 9117 tach adapter is designed to have the ignition coil(s) power feed go THROUGH it to generate tach signal. You need to cut the factory wire, and wire the UPSTREAM (fuse) side of the wire at the cut to the tach adapter ignition IN wire (R), and wire the DOWNSTREAM (ignition coils) side to the tach adapter ignition OUT wire (R/LG)
