Two strut assemblies stood side by side against a painted concrete-block wall for comparison: a taller unit with a clean silver strut body and grey coil spring, and a shorter, dirtier strut marked in yellow paint pen with a rust-streaked spring. Both retain their upper mounts, bearing plates and spring isolators.
