By looking at the spotwelds are and measuring under the truck where the lip ends, i measured where to cut.
To begin the cut i used a 3/8 drill bit at the corners of where i cut. i wanted the hole to be big enough to work but small enough to not be a weak spot when putting weight on it. I made mine roughly 12" wide and 8" long but i could of make it smaler easily.
When drilling or cutting, DO NOT go too deep or else you will hit the gasstank or fuel lines. Drill VERY slowly to prevent going too deep.
I used a jigsaw to make my cuts but to prevent from cutting the lines i shortened the blade by cutting off the extra. You want the blade long enough so it wont come out when fully contract when the boddy curves down. But shorter the better so the blade has less chance of hitting the tank or lines.
Best to start cutting the sides first. then do the cut toawrd the back of the truck and finally the cut toawd the front of the truck. As to not hit the fuel lines i didnt cut the middle 4" on the finall cut. From there the plate was bendable enough where i bent the plate back and forth till it broke off.
